LATEST ADVERTISING TRICK DISTURBS RESIDENTS' SLEEP
Seven in the morning is not a quite time in Shanghai's Hongkou District these days.
The latest advertising trick by a local beauty salon has a squad of young men and women running along
the streets in these early hours wearing yellow T-shirts, shouting slogans and waving banners.
These activities have invited a flood of companints from neighbourhood residents saying they have had
their beauty sleep disturbed.
A manager from the salon supported his new idea saying that he just wanted hius staff to keep fit and strengthen the company's sense of unity.

MAN SUES POLICE FOR LATE NIGHT CALL
A resident of Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, took
a local police station and a branch of the local public security bureau to court, claiming that their activities to register his status so late at night without
advanced notification had violated his legal interests.
However, the court of first instance ruled against the man's case arguing that the time for police to make
door to door registration was not stipulated in the law. The plaintiff appealed to the higher court and the second instance was held on Tuesday.
The police, in defence, argued that the man did not
register himself with the local police station, making their drop-in call a necessity of household registration system. They explained that the late visit time at about 11pm, was to ensure they did not
disturb his daily job. The case continues.

BANK STEALS MAN'S CAR FOR LATE PAYMENT.
A man failed to pay his loan debt for a car on time and later found his car repossessed by the bank in Henan.
Mr Feng bought a new Honda Accord sedan last
year using a bank loan in Nanyang of Henan Province. He was required to pay 7,000 yuan (US$864) monthly to the bank to keep on top of the payments.
However, Feng failed to make payments this month
but got a permit from the bank to postpone the payment until the following month.
Several days later Feng found his car was gone. Police later discovered that the bank had taken the
car. The bank then demanded that Feng's late payment in order to get his car back.
An official from the bank is now being held in police custody. Feng is suing for for value of car for inconvenince.

PET DOG ADDICTED TO CIGARETTE SMOKE. Courtesy: China Daily A 1-year old dog has got addicted to cigarette smoke
in Henan and falls sick if it is not passively smoking.
Li, the owner of the dog, is a heavy smoker in Shanguiu of Henan Province, and often plays with the dog, Dou
Dou, when he smokes. Dou Dou appears to get excited at the smell of cigarette smoke. However, should he not get the chance to inhale the smoke, after a few days he
looses his appetite, yawns and his eyes weep.
Li said dou Dou developed this habit at 6 months old. Dongfang Jinbao
OVEREXCITED MAN BURNS HIMSELF
A man who was too excited to sleep after winning an award ended up burning himself after his cigarette ignited in the night.
Lu won a free trip to Thailand in October courtesy of his company in Tianjin. The overexited man was unable to sleep so remained smoking on his couch. However
Lu eventually fell asleep and dropped his cigarette, which ignited the couch.
We was woken by a pain in his back and was rushed to hospital. Unfortunately, he may not be well enough to
take the trip to Thailand.

FRENCH COUPLE LOST IN TRANSLATION.
An anxious French tourist in Xi'an, capital of Northwest's China's Shaanxi Province, was hindered in finding her missing husband due to her limited ability to speak Chinese or English.
The French couple lost each other at noon on Wednesday after visiting a museum in Xi'an. They were scheduled to board a plane taking off at 3 pm.
The warm-hearted citizens were unable to help the
anxious women due to language constraints.
However, the police eventually res[ponded following a 110 emergency call to find the husband.
The husband was found within half an hour of the call
and the couple hurried off to catch their plane.

DOGGY DAMAGE GOES TO COURT. A car driver recently filed a lawsuit against a dog owner asking for compensation, as Chen claims the dog caused a traffic accident leading to his injuries and
damage to his new car, reports the Foshan Daily.The driver, surnamed Chen ran into a wire pole when he swerved to avoid a dog that suddenly rushed into the middle of the highway in Foshan of Guangdong
province.Chen's car was badly damaged and he suffered a slight injury in the accident.Chen and the dog owner, surnamed Zhang, failed to reach an agreement on compensation by themselves.A local court has
